THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2010) – The Maritime volleyball team hosted Skyline opponents Purchase and Yeshiva Sunday at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium for a conference tri-match. The Privateers fell in both their matches to the Panthers, 3-0, and the Maccabees, 3-2. The losses drops Maritime's record to 0-14 on the season, including an 0-5 mark in Skyline action.
Sophomore Krystal Miranda (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) recorded double-doubles in both matches with 12 assists and 15 digs against Purchase and 23 assists and 13 digs against Yeshiva. Sophomore Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman) had a match-high 15 kills against the Maccabees as part of her double-double effort with 25 digs.
Junior Natalie Jackson (Stockton, Calif./Bear Creek) (Stockton, Calif./Bear Creek) recorded a team-high 18 kills on the afternoon, while picking up 17 digs over the two matches.
The Privateers return to action this Tuesday, Oct. 12, when they play host to Skyline foe Farmingdale State at 7 p.m. at Riesenberg Gym.
