TROY, N.Y. (Sept. 27, 2009) – On Saturday, the Maritime volleyball team dropped its first two Skyline Conference matches of the season with losses to Sage, 3-0, and Farmingdale State, 3-2, at a tri-match hosted by The Sage Colleges at the Gators' Neff Athletic Center. With the losses, the Privateers fall to 3-4 (0-2 Skyline), while the Gators improved to 6-11(3-0 Skyline) and the Rams improve to 1-9 (1-1 Skyline).
In the two matches combined, sophomore Natalie Jackson tallied 23 assists and nine digs, while freshman Lauren Johnson led the Privateers in kills each match (four vs. Sage and 10 vs. Farmingdale State). Senior Marissa Danzy had eight kills and a team high seven blocks against the Rams.
The Maritime volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 29, when the squad plays host to Kings Point at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
