Volleyball Falls To College Of Staten Island, 3-0

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Oct. 4, 2009) – The Maritime volleyball team was swept by the College of Staten Island, 3-0, Tuesday night at the CSI Sports Complex. The scores of the match were 25-16, 25-15 and 25-23. With the loss, the Privateers fall to 3-8 overall on the season, while the Dolphins improve to 6-10.

 

Freshman Lauren Johnson (Lansing, Mich./Holt) registered 10 kills and seven digs for Maritime, while sophomore Natalie Jackson (Stockton, Calif./Bear Creek) recorded a a team-high with 16 assists to along with seven digs and five kills. Freshman Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) and junior libero Natalie Warren (Peachtree City, Ga./Homeschooled) chipped in with nine and eight digs, respectively.

 

The Privateers return to the court on Saturday, Oct. 10, when they travel to Westbury, N.Y., for a Skyline Conference Tri-Match. There they will take on the Panthers of Old Westbury at 11 a.m. and the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's-L.I. at 1 p.m.
