BRONXVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 23, 2009) – The Maritime volleyball team fell to Sarah Lawrence, 3-0, Thursday night in a makeup of an earlier-postponed match. With the loss, the Privateers fall to 3-14 overall, while the Gryphons improve to 5-9.

 

Freshman Lauren Johnson (Lansing, Mich./Holt) tallied a team-high seven kills and picked up three digs, while senior Marissa Danzy registered six total blocks and six digs to lead the Maritime defense. Freshman Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) had a Privateer-best nine assists.

 

The volleyball team returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 24, when the squad hosts a Skyline Conference tri-match with Mount Saint Vincent and NYU-Poly at the Riesenberg Gymnasium. First serve with the Dolphins is set for 11 a.m., while the match against the Fighting Blue Jays is scheduled for 1 p.m.
