THROGGS NECK, NY – After combining for 10 goals and 17 points in the Maritime College men's lacrosse team's 14-3 victory at Mount St. Mary on Saturday, freshmen
Ryan Hannaford (Bayport, NY) and
Nicholas Uzakewicz (Hauppauge, NY) both received Skyline Conference weekly honors. Hannaford was chosen as the Skyline Offensive Player of the Week, while Uzakewicz earned his second straight Skyline Rookie of the Week selection.
Hannaford finished with eight goals and 13 points in two games, as the Privateers earned a pair of conference wins. He scored a hat trick and handed out assist to go along with two ground balls in the 17-8 triumph over Manhattanville on Wednesday night. Hannaford then tallied a career-high nine points against Mount St. Mary on Saturday. He found the back of the net five times and distributed four assists in the victory.
Uzakewicz, meanwhile, recorded 12 points in the two contests. Against Manhattanville, he notched a pair of goals and added two assists. Uzakewicz then scored on all five of his shot attempts at Mount St. Mary. He also contributed three assists and caused three turnovers against the Knights.
This is Uzakewicz's third Skyline Rookie of the Week selection this season. He was previously honored on March 11 and April 8. Hannaford received a Rookie of the Week nod on March 19 and is the first freshman to be chosen as Offensive Player of the Week in 2025.
The Privateers (4-7, 2-1 Skyline), who have won two straight, return to action on Tuesday, when they visit St. Joseph's LI (2-6, 0-3 Skyline) at 6 p.m.
