All-ECAC Team
THROGGS NECK, NY – One week after being named honorable mention All-America by the United States Intercollegiate Lacross Association (USILA),
Kieran Hendry (East Northport, NY) of the Maritime College men's lacrosse team has picked up another postseason accolade with a selection to the All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Team. The Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Year is the Privateers' first All-ECAC performer since 2019.
In 2024, Hendry tied for second in the conference with 147 ground balls, the second-highest single-season total in program history. His 8.17 ground balls per game, meanwhile, were third-most in the league. Hendry picked up 10 or more ground balls five different times, including a career-high 23 in a win at Manhattanville on April 27. He also contributed 32 caused turnovers and tallied six points (two goals, four assists).
Hendry becomes the first Maritime player to earn a place on the All-ECAC Team since Mark Buchner,
Matt DeMeo and Brett Trodden were all honored in 2019. Buchner was named to the All-ECAC First Team that season, while DeMeo and Trodden were Second Team All-ECAC selections.
The ECAC is an 85-year-old organization that includes more than 200 schools across all three NCAA Divisions. An All-ECAC Team is chosen in every sport it sponsors. Student-athletes must be a first team all-conference performer or major award winner in their primary conference to be eligible for All-ECAC honors.
