Reilly Becomes Maritime’s All-Time Goals Leader

THROGGS NECK, NY – In the Maritime College men's lacrosse team's last home game, Parker Reilly (West Islip, NY) tied the single-game program records for goals and points.  On Wednesday night against Mount St. Vincent, he became the Privateers' all-time goals leader.  Reilly scored seven times, giving him 144 career tallies, in Maritime's (8-5, 4-1 Skyline) 18-5 win over the visiting Dolphins (5-7, 1-3 Skyline) at Reinhart Field.

Reilly's first goal came less than a minute into the contest, and he found the back of the net again at the 5:05 mark of the first quarter to give the Privateers a 3-2 lead.  That tally started a 16-0 Maritime run, as the Privateers held the Dolphins scoreless for a span of more than 40 minutes, including the entire second and third quarters.  After breaking Matt DeMeo's record with his 143rd career goal at the 12:34 mark of the third quarter, Reilly added another with 4:46 left in the third quarter to make it 18-2.

Mount St. Mary finally snapped Maritime's scoring streak when Isaac Parsons put one home with 11:14 to go in the game.  The Dolphins added two more fourth quarter goals to trim their final deficit to 18-5.

Maritime outshot Mount St. Vincent 65-20 and held a 50-21 edge in ground balls.  The Privateers also went a combined 21-for-26 on faceoffs.

With seven goals, Reilly now has a league-high 54 on the season.  He added an assist and three ground balls.  Connor Tomich (Sayville, NY) scored four times, while Charles Gerace (Rocky Point, NY) contributed three goals.  Patrick Schnell (Jericho, NY) finished with a goal and three assists, and Ryan Brice (Wall, NJ) handed out four assists to go along with four ground balls.

Kieran Hendry (East Northport, NY) picked up 10 ground balls, marking the third time this season he's reached double-figures, and he also caused two turnovers.  Joseph Bruno (East Islip, NY) was 18-for-21 on faceoffs and collected seven ground balls, while Grant Gifford (Oakdale, NY) gathered six ground balls.  All four Maritime goalkeepers saw action, with Michael Monahan (Ronkonkoma, NY) (2-1) earning the win after getting the start and playing the first half.  He allowed two goals and made three saves.

For the Dolphins, Jacob Cochran led the way with two goals, while Ryan Jean-Pharuns notched a goal and two assists.  Jake Luxoro had a team-high four ground balls.  Mark Lulgjuraj (5-7) recorded five first half saves before giving way to Walker Moore, who stopped eight Maritime shots.

The Privateers conclude their home schedule against Mount St. Mary (2-8, 1-3 Skyline) on Saturday.  Maritime will honor its graduating seniors prior to the 7 p.m. matchup.
