FARMINGDALE, NY – On Tuesday night, the Maritime College men's soccer team traveled to Farmingdale for its third game in five days. The contest was scoreless at halftime, but the Rams (9-3-2, 6-1-1 Skyline) found the back of the net three times over the final 45 minutes to notch a 3-0 victory over the Privateers (3-8-3, 0-7-2 Skyline) at Rams Field.
Farmingdale had several early scoring chances, but
Augusto Lebron (Valley Stream, NY) came up big for Maritime to keep the Rams off the board. The Privateers' best opportunity of the first half came was in the 13
th minute.
Justin Song's (Syosset, NY) attempt was stopped by the Rams' Justin Silva, however, and the game went into halftime still 0-0.
Just four minutes into the second half, the Rams broke through. Joseph Raso took a pass from Wilmer Dominguez and slipped it past Lebron to give Farmingdale a 1-0 lead. Dominguez then added a tally of his own in the 63
rd minute to make it 2-0. Tyree Baskin Jr.'s 75
th-minute score increased the Rams' advantage to 3-0, which would be the final margin.
Maritime was outshot 22-3 in the game, and Lebron (3-8-3) made 11 saves in a losing effort. It was the second time in three outings that he was credited with 11 saves. Silva (9-3-2), meanwhile, had three saves for Farmingdale.
There are two games remaining on Maritime's 2023 slate. The Privateers conclude their home schedule by welcoming Mount St. Vincent (6-4-2, 4-2-2 Skyline) to Reinhart Field at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Prior to the game, Maritime will recognize its four seniors—
