PURCHASE, NY – On Saturday afternoon, the Maritime College men's soccer team wrapped up its two-game road trip with a visit to Manhattanville.  Facing an opponent that's undefeated in Skyline Conference play on the road for the second straight contest, the Privateers (1-7-2, 0-4-1 Skyline) fell to the Valiants (6-3-1, 4-0-0 Skyline) by an 8-0 count at GoValiants.com Field.

Manhattanville struck early, getting on the board just 1:54 into the game.  After the Valiants' Demba Cham made it 2-0 in the ninth minute, Maritime surrendered an own goal just 15 seconds later.  The Valiants would score four more times in the opening 31 minutes and took a 7-0 advantage into halftime.  Alex Rojas then completed a hat trick in the 73^rd minute to cap the scoring in an 8-0 Manhattanville victory.

The Maritime offense was held to three shots, one of which came early from Nick Glancy (Deer Park, NY).  Fanis Tsatalios (Wayne, NJ) and Luc Iversen (West Babylon, NY) also put shots on net, while George Kanellopoulos (Bayside, NY) saw his 71^st-minute attempt hit the crossbar.  Danny Madeira (New Rochelle, NY) (0-4-1) got the start in goal for the Privateers and made five saves.

For the Valiants, starting goalkeeper Luis Granados (6-3-1) played the first half and recorded save in the winning effort, while Jake Rothluebbers recorded a pair of second-half saves.  Rojas had a hat trick for Manhattanville, and Cham scored twice.  Kendall Davis, meanwhile, tallied a goal and an assist.

Maritime returns to Reinhart Field on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. matchup with Purchase (3-5-0, 0-3-0 Skyline).  It will be the first of two straight home games for the Privateers.
