THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – This Saturday in conjunction with its Skyline Conference matchup with the Mount St. Vincent Dolphins, the Maritime men's lacrosse team will be hosting its first-ever 'Lace Up with LAX' event.
The lacrosse team is encouraging spectators and fans for Saturday's game to bring new, non-worn sneakers to the game. Youth sizes are strongly encouraged and a major need of the recipient of the donation 'BronxWorks'.
"Lace Up With LAX is dedicated to defining the legacy of lacrosse players off the field by working to provide children who are homeless a new pair of shoes and in turn, a step to a brighter future.
The Maritime men's lacrosse team has selected the BronxWorks as the organization to donate the shoes to. "BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors. BronxWorks feeds, shelters, teaches, and supports neighbors to build a stronger community."
The game is slated to begin at 11 a.m. on Reinhart Field as the Privateers meet the Dolphins in their first home Skyline Conference matchup of 2018.
