The Maritime College swimming teams dominated Purchase College on Thursday night as the men improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in Skyline play with a 167-29 win while the women moved to 3-2 and 3-1 in the conference with a 151-21 victory. Highlighting the dual meet was freshman 
Daniel Walsh (Naugatuck, CT/Sacred Heart) who broke a 28-year-old record in the 1000-yard freestyle. Walsh touched the wall in 10:22.65, breaking Sean Boughal's record of 10:26.41.
Walsh set the record in the second event of the meet after the team of 
Kevin Wu (Flushing, N.Y./Francis Lewis), 
Nathanael Marino (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain), 
Stephen Kelleher (Poughquag, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), and 
Spencer Blass (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) won the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:58.08. Kelleher then picked up his second win of the day in the 200-yard freestyle as he beat out teammate 
Jesse Pierce (Broadway, Va./Broadway) with a time of 2:03.67.
In the fourth event of the day for the men, the Privateers finished in all top-three spots for the 50-yard freestyle. Blass, 
Seth Champlin (Throggs Neck, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac), and 
Frank Horne (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) finished first, second, and third, respectively. Blass barely out-touched Champlin as they record times of 24.21 and 24.81, respectively. Walsh continued his strong performance in the 100-yard butterfly with a first-place finish and a time of 59.51.
Blass added another win on the day for Maritime as he finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.66, just seconds ahead of teammate 
John Moloney (Selkrik, NY/Bethlehem Central). The 100-yard backstroke saw another 1,2,3 finish for the Privateers as Marino, 
Brendan Raffay (Stanhope, N.J./Lenape Valley), and 
Nicholas Mastronikolas (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) finished with times of 1:01.19, 1:09.26, and 1:10.61, respectively. 
Alex Baros (Phoenix, AZ/Brophy College Preparatory) picked up the first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:44.39, while 
Ian Folan (Bethel, Conn./Notre Dame) followed it up in the 100-yard breaststroke touching first with a time of 1:10.74. The final event for meet saw a dominant relay performance from Maritime as all three times finished in the top-three. Marino, Blass, Walsh, and Wu finished first, followed by Mastronikolas, 
Derrick Kennedy (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum), 
Tommy Murray (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic), and 
Zach Woolley (Poughkeepsie, NY/Poughkeepsie). 
Christopher Chilelli (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional), Horne, 
Alex Goncalves (Easton, Conn./Joel Barlow), and 
Matthew Crowley (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Somers) rounded out the impressive performance.
On the women's side, 
Emily Zink (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport), 
Maura Neely (Towson, Md./Maryvale Prep), 
Samantha Brow (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial), and 
Catherine Teige (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Our Lady of Good Counsel) got things rolling with a first-place finish in the 400-yard medlay relay and a time of 5:15.34. 
Katia Aaron (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) then continued her dominance in distance events this season with a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 12:19.93. 
In the 200-yard freestyle, 
Ashley Giorgio (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and 
Hannah Mesones (Spring Valley, NY/Ramapo) came in first and second, respectively, recording times of 2:40.27 and 2:43.21. The 50-yard freestyle also saw dominance for the women as Brow, 
Catherine Teige (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Our Lady of Good Counsel), and 
Margaret Teige (Tuckahoe, NY/Maria Regina) finished in the top three. Zink, Mesones, and 
Emma Haedrich (West Islip, NY/West Islip) then added another dominant performance for Maritime with another top-three finish and times of 1:14.56, 1:30.14, and 1:31.31, respectively.
Brow picked up her third win of the day in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:03.26, while Neely finished second. Zink, 
Anna Curran (Shelton, Conn./Shelton), and 
Hannah Argiros (Levittown, NY/Kellenberg) picked up another 16 points for Maritime in the 100-yard backstroke. Aaron followed it up with another distance win, this time with a time of 6:17.54 in the 500-yard freestyle. Despite swimming the distance event, Aaron got right back in the pool for the 100-yard breaststroke and picked up a win with a time of 1:22.17. The Privateers then capped off the dominant win with a first and second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Curran, Giorgio, 
Catherine Teige (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Our Lady of Good Counsel), and Neely touched first at 2:09.82, while teammates 
Margaret Teige (Tuckahoe, NY/Maria Regina), 
Alice Limanova (Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany), 
Caitlin Corrao (Flushing, NY/St. Francis Prep), and 
Kaitlyn Amrhein (Astoria, NY/New York Harbor) touched second at 2:21.62.
The Privateers return home next week for two events. On Tuesday, Dec. 4, Maritime hosts Lehman College and then on Friday, Dec. 7 they host Skyline foe Mount Saint Mary at 6:00 p.m.
