Maritime College Athletics has two big games on the horizon with men's soccer hosting a semi-final playoff matchup on Wednesday night, 10/31, at 7:30 p.m. against USMMA, while football takes a four-game win streak into senior day against Hampton University on Saturday, 11/3 at 1:00 p.m.

The men's soccer team has had a historic 2018 regular season and will look to continue that momentum into the playoffs as they play host to USMMA in a semifinal matchup. The Privateers set a new program record for wins in a season as they finished 14-4-1overall and 7-2-1 in Skyline play. The team was also incredible at Reinhart Field as they finished 9-0-1 at home and outscored opponents by a 45-4 margin. Senior midfielder
Parker Gallt (Las Vegas, Nev./Plainfield South (Ill.))Â leads the Maritime offense with nine goals and eight assists for 26 points, while sophomore forward
Christopher Tavernese (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City)Â has also chipped in nine goals this season. In the regular season matchup between the Mariners and Privateers, Maritime traveled to Kings Point and brought back a hard-fought 2-1 win. The Privateers were out shot 19-14 in the contest, but they were able to take advantage of their chances and walk away with a key conference victory. Maritime will look to continue to be dominant offensively at home and jump ahead early against USMMA as they hope to take home their third Skyline Conference title after back-to-back championships in 2010 and 2011.

Following a shaky start to the season, the Maritime football team has found its rhythm and currently rides a four-game winning streak. This past weekend, the Privateers traveled to Anna Maria and came up with a clutch 14-7 win in tough weather conditions. Maritime will face an even tougher task this weekend as they take on Division I opponent, Hampton University, for senior day. The Privateers will honor their 22 senior members in a pre-game ceremony. The dynamic duo of
Thomas Wright (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) and
Brandonn Drumgole (Mt. Sinai, N.Y./Mt. Sinai) will look to continue their chemistry as they have combined for 10 touchdowns this season, including a touchdown pass from Drumgole to Wright in their homecoming win against Dean. On the ground,
Kahlil Lewin (Brooklyn, N.Y./Erasmus Hall)Â will hope to keep his momentum going after back-to-back 100-yard rushing games. Defensively, Maritime is led by
Liam Bailey (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville), who has tallied 85 tackles out of the linebacker position. Bailey and the Privateers defense are holding opponents to 20 points a game this season and will hope to limit Hampton's effectiveness on Saturday afternoon.
