BRONX, N.Y. – The Maritime men's soccer team dropped their road first match of the season with a 6-0 loss to New York University on Saturday night at Gaelic Park as the Privateers fall to 5-1-1 on the year.
It was a tough night offensively for the Privateers as they managed just three shots. Sophomore
Aleks Olthoff-Cusumano (Eastport, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) had the first shot of the night as he nearly scored on a header that went off the post. Maritime trailed 4-0 going into halftime with just their one shot to NYU's 13. Neither team recorded a save and NYU had two corner kicks while Maritime had none.

Neil Dillon (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park) had the second shot on the night as he took a shot that went high over the goal. Nearing the end of the match senior
Stefan Gittens (Baton Rouge, La./Baton Rouge Magnet) attempted a shot but it went wide.
Final stats saw Maritime get outshot 20-3 and 8-0 in shots on goal. They lost the battle of corner kicks also 4-0.
Maritime (5-1-1) will be back in action this Monday at 7:30 p.m. when they host Medgar Evers College at Reinhart Field.
New York University (1-2-0) will play Manhattanville College next Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
