THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – On Monday, the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference announced its award winners for the 10th week of the 2016 season. Maritime senior defensive back
Brian Price (New York, N.Y./Wadleigh) was chosen as the co-Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's win vs. Mount Ida.

Price led Maritime's defensive efforts with a team-best eight tackles including seven stops coming in the solo variety. In addition to his tackling success, Price also had a pair of interceptions on the game including one late in the fourth quarter with the Mustangs threatening.

With the game tied at 14, Price picked off a throw to the back of the end zone and took the touchback. On the following offensive drive for the Privateers, Maritime drove down the field and kicked what proved to be the game-winning field goal in the team's 17-14 conference victory.

On the season, Price is second on the team with 61 tackles overall with five tackles for a loss in 24 yards. He has a league-leading five interceptions and has blocked three kicks and has been credited with four pass breakups through the team's first nine games of the season.

Maritime (5-4, 3-3 ECFC) will wrap up the 2016 season on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m., when the team heads to Washington, D.C. to take on the Gallaudet Bison on Hotchkiss Field.
