Week 6 Preview: Maritime Visits Anna Maria for First ECFC Road Game

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – This Saturday the Maritime football team will be on the road for the first time in over a month, when the team travels to Paxton, Massachusetts to take on the Anna Maria AMCATs from AMCAT Field with the start time set for 2 p.m.

Series History: Maritime has seven wins, in seven all-time games against the AMCATs. Last season, Maritime upended Anna Maria at home by a score of 44-7 on Reinhart Field. In the matchup, the Privateers had 29 first downs on 455 yards of total offense. Defensively, Maritime turned the ball over twice on a pair of interceptions, and also had two sacks in the game.
 
Maritime Last Game Recap: Maritime enters off of its conference opener against Husson a week ago, where the Privateers fell by the score of 33-12. The Privateers led in passing yards per completion with an 18.3 yard average on their 11 completions. Maritime also connected on the only field goal of the contest.
 
Anna Maria Last Game Recap: Anna Maria opened up ECFC play with a 23-13 loss to Castleton last week. The AMCATs fell behind early with by 17 points, but added a last-second touchdown in the first half to trim the deficit to 10. Anna Maria's second touchdown of the game came on a 61-yard fumble recovery late in the fourth quarter.
 
Pick-Six: The last time the Privateers had an interception returned for a touchdown came in 2014 against the AMCATs in Paxton, Mass. Chris Klass '14 had a 60-yard return for a touchdown late in the third quarter to put Maritime ahead 30-6 before going on to the 40-12 victory.
 
Around the ECFC: In addition to Maritime travelling to Anna Maria at 2:00 p.m.; Gallaudet makes the longest trip in the league to Husson at 1:00 p.m.; Mount Ida hosts Castleton at 1:00 p.m.; while Norwich visits Becker at 2:00 p.m.
