NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – In what was a tightly contested match at the 60-minute mark, Maritime Rugby succumbed to penalties. The final score saw top-seeded New Paltz Hawks defeat the fourth-seeded Maritime Privateers, 43-17. 
 
The defensive effort of Maritime was commendable, but the offensive backs were unable to establish a continuity of offense.
 
Senior Christopher Motlenski (Aquebogue, N.Y.), junior Sukmin Yoon (Ridgewood, N.J.) and sophomore Owen Serbent (Killingworth, Conn.) scored tries as senior Ethan Cannon (Hartford, Conn.) converted the conversion.
 
On the game, Coach Bob Wolf commented, "This was a great season considering it was Maritime's first Rugby season in three years."
