Leading the way for the Privateers was junior Shannon Brady (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point), who recorded 13 kills on the match. Freshman Sheila Flaherty (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) had nine kills and led the Privateers with five blocks on the evening, while senior Carly Lombardo (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) had seven kills and led the team with 14 digs. Junior Gabrielle Kempski (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) was one off the team lead in digs as she registered 13 on the night.

Senior Erika Bailey (Newark Valley, N.Y./Tioga Central) had two kills and held the team lead with 27 assists, while sophomores Colleen Ireland (Hyde Park, N.Y./Mount Olive (N.J.)) and Isabella Kent (Narrowsburg, N.Y./Sullivan West) each had one kill on the match. Senior Alyssa Esposito (Farmingdale, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) led Maritime with three service aces, while sophomore Catherine Pfundstein (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) played late in the match and tallied a pair of digs.

Maritime got off to a torrid start with a quick 6-1 lead in the opening set as five errors by the Bulldogs helped the Privateers build their lead. Maritime was able to build up to a 10-4 lead, but Brooklyn chipped away and made the score 9-11.

The Privateers responded with five unanswered points as Brady and Bailey both recorded kills during the stretch, putting Maritime up by seven. Brooklyn continued to answer back and trimmed the deficit to 23-19, but Maritime was able to finish off the set on a kill and service ace by Lombardo.

The second set was evenly matched, despite Maritime surging early to a 9-3 lead. Brooklyn sliced the lead down to one at 19-18 before Maritime scored three straight points with a kill from Brady and an ace from Lombardo leading the way. Brooklyn pulled to within one at 23-22, but Brady picked up a kill to force set point, which the Bulldogs were able to avoid once before a service error gave the set to the Privateers.

In the third, Maritime stormed out of the gates again to take a 10-3 lead behind serving from Esposito, who tallied a pair of service aces during the stretch. The Privateers went on a pair of 4-0 runs to help expand the lead to 22-8 before closing out the set with the final two points on kills by Flaherty and Brady.
