PURCHASE, N.Y. – Senior
Sheick Wattara (Bronx, N.Y./Urban Assembly for Math & Science) scored the only goal in an overtime win in the 95th minute against Purchase on Saturday afternoon. Freshman
Parker Gallt (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) had the headed assist off a free kick on Wattara's seventh goal of the season.
In regulation time, both teams had plenty of shots on goal but neither were able to break through. The Privateers totaled 33 shots, compared to 17 for the Panthers.
Along with his goal, Wattara added five shots on goal. Gallt also took six total shots in the win.
Senior
Karl Weber (Northport, N.Y./Northport) made 10 saves in the full 95 minutes in net for his fifth shutout and 11th win of the season.
Senior midfielder
Renato Chira-Farfan (Miraflores, Peru/Mahopac (N.Y.)) tallied four shots on goal.
The Maritime defense was led by Senior
Brian McKeever (Wallkill, N.Y./Wallkill) and freshman
Jack Feehan (Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale) who both played the full 95 minutes in the win.
In addition to leading in shots, Maritime (11-6, 5-4 Skyline) the match with five corners and only allowed four corners to Purchase (4-13, 3-6 Skyline).
The next match for the Privateers is Wednesday, October 28, against Yeshiva on Reinhart Field. This will be their final match of the regular season.
