ALL-TIME SERIES
Maritime has been on a roll against the Becker Hawks, winning six straight matchups and seven-of-eight games overall.

Last season, Maritime knocked off Becker by a 30-7 margin last season in Leicester, Mass. In the game, Maritime ran the ball 59 times for 331 yards including 123 yards from fullback Kyle Gardner (Amityville N.Y./St. Anthony’s). The Privateers also got an 85-yard rushing touchdown from Greg Caneparo (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet), the longest rush from scrimmage in Privateer history.

On defense, Hugh O'Brien (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) picked up a 10-yard fumble recovery touchdown to start off the fourth quarter, just the ninth such player to do so in the history of Maritime football. Nick Coffiey (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Military Academy) led the team with 11 tackles. Chris Klass (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet) also had an interception in the game, while Andrew Auriemma (Melville, N.Y./St. Anthony’s) also caused a fumble.

The All-Purpose Man
For the Privateers, Caneparo has done a little bit of everything this season and the numbers show it, as he is ranked 5th in the ECFC with 101.8 All-Purpose Yards per Game. On the year, he has 281 rushing yards on 26 carries, 134 receiving yards on 11 catches, and 196 kickoff return yards for a season total of 611 yards this year.

Climbing to the Top
With their strong efforts last week, junior placekicker Diogo Dietrich (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/DePaul Catholic) now has 34 points on the season, while classmate Zack Chilcott (Ulster Park, N.Y./Kingston) has 30 points this season. For Dietrich he is now in a tie for third in scoring in the league, while Chilcott is close behind in a tie for sixth place.

Keeping the Balance
While no player has more than 50 tackles on the season, the Privateer defense has put together a balanced and strong effort on the year. Coffiey leads the way with his 50 tackles, followed by O'Brien with 48, Kameron Knight (Clayton, N.C./West Johnson) is third on the squad with 41.

Senior Duke Alvora (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison) has 34 wrap-ups, while Auriemma has 33. Junior Beau Warrington (Milford, Del./Sussex Technical) is next on the team with 29.
