Box Score THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Maritime Football dropped an Eastern Collegiate Football Conference matchup to the Husson Eagles on Saturday afternoon by the scscore of 40-0 on Reinhart Field.

On offense, Maritime was led by junior quarterback
Kevin Monahan (Seaford, N.Y./MacArthur), who threw for 84 yards on 10 completions. Junior wide receiver
Andrew Short (Covington, La./St. Paul's) hauled in four passes for 38 yards, while senior
Greg Caneparo (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet) also collected four passes for 38 yards in the air. Junior quarterback
Zack Chilcott (Ulster Park, N.Y./Kingston) started the game and completed three passes for 15 yards in the early stages of the contest.

The defensive unit was led by senior linebackers
Duke Alvora (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison) and
Nick Coffiey (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Military Academy) as the pair both collected eight stops apiece. Sophomore
Eric Wallace (West Point, N.Y./James O'Neill) had seven tackles including one for a loss in yardage, while senior
Hugh O'Brien (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) ended the game with six stops, and also had 2.5 tackles for a loss and a blocked extra point.

On special teams, sophomore
John Arny (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen) had a busy afternoon with 10 punts for 323 yards, which included a 43-yard game-high for the right-footed punter. Caneparo and classmate
Chris Klass (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet) led the return-game as the pair combined for six kickoff returns for a combined 126 yards. Sophomore
Krystian Cardinal-Charles (Brooklyn, N.Y./Boys and Girls) had one kickoff return for 11 yards, and one punt return for seven yards on the afternoon.

About halfway through the opening period, the Eagles put a quick six points on the scoreboard on a 60-yard run to take the lead. The ensuing extra point was blocked by O'Brien, who reached up high to block the kick. Several minutes later Husson added its second touchdown of the period to take a 13-0 lead.

The Eagles then added three more touchdowns in the second quarter, and one more at the end of the third quarter as Husson was on cruise control through the latter stages of the game.

Maritime (1-4, 0-2 ECFC) will return to play a week from today as the team will travel to Paxton, Mass. to take on the Anna Maria AMCats for a 3 p.m. kickoff on October 18.

Husson (3-1, 2-0 ECFC) will take on Gallaudet next Saturday, as the team returns home to Bangor, Maine for a 1 p.m. start.
