Inside The Series With Manhattanville
These teams met last season for the first time since the 2007 season, when Manhattanville was still a member of the Skyline Conference. In the past nine seasons, the teams have met just four times and the Privateers own a 3-1 series record in that time.

Last Time These Two Teams Met
The Valiants travelled to Reinhart Field on April 4, 2012, and edged Maritime by the score of 10-9. Then-sophomore Mike Johnson (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) scored his first career hat-trick to lead the Privateers. It was Johnson's third goal with 3:02 to go in the fourth that made it a one-goal game.

Senior Steven Tonn (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) led all players with nine groundballs and six caused turnovers, while then-junior Joe Villarreal (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) was excellent in the faceoff circle, winning 12-of-18 draws. Wess Johnson (Elgin, S.C./Heath Wood Hall) and Brennen Siele (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) both scored two goals for the Privateers, while then-junior Kevin Winter (Brightwaters, N.Y./Bay Shore) (Brightwaters, N.Y./Bay Shore) also found the back of the net. In goal, then-junior Nick Barbuto (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) made 14 saves.
