	THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Dec. 9, 2011) – The Maritime men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted non-conference opponent Brooklyn College Friday night at the Riesenberg Hall Pool and the Privateers swept the visiting Bulldogs. The men won by the score of 135-61 to improve their record to 6-1 on the season, while the women won, 122-71, to move to 2-5.
	 
	Both teams touched first every event of the night but one. The men had six swimmers that won two events each on the night, freshman 
Zach Haughn (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep.) (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep.), sophomore 
Dominic Pereira (Jacksonville, Fla./Fletcher) (Jacksonville, Fla./Fletcher), senior 
Jonathan DaSilva (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville), freshman 
James Rostrup (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst), junior 
Joe Tucker (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) and freshman 
Collin McNamara (Somerville, N.J./St. Joseph-Metuchen) (Somerville, N.J./St. Joseph-Metuchen).
	 
	On the women's side, freshmen 
Mariel Vanderlinden (Woodside, N.Y./Dominican Academy) and 
Charlotte Acklin (Lewes, Del./West Broward (Fla.)) (Lewes, Del./West Broward) once again led the way with three first-place finishes each. Four other swimmers had two wins apiece: sophomores 
Ariel Beebe (Morian, N.Y./Morian Central) (Morian, N.Y./Morian Central),
 Kwantisha Lozada (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township) (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township) and 
Courtney Hill (Palmdale, Calif./Quartz Hill) and senior 
Leighahn Ferrari (Copiague, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) (Copiague, N.Y./St. John the Baptist).
	 
	The Privateers will now rest up over the winter break before returning back to action next semester and getting ready for the second half of the season. The next meet is not until Jan. 19 at non-conference opponent Baruch College. It starts at 6 p.m. at the Bearcats' pool on their campus in Manhattan.
