Lasher Named ECFC Week Three Defensive Player Of The Week

Sophomore Pat Lasher (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) was named the ECFC Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in the Privateers' exciting 41-34 victory over arch-rival Kings Point last Saturday at Reinhart Field. The 6-2, 200-pounder led the squad with ten tackles (seven solo and three assisted). Two of his tackles were for combined losses of four yards.

Earning Player of the Week accolades is becoming a continued trend for Maritime, as the team already has the conference lead in number of players winning the weekly awards. The Privateers have earned five different spots over the first three weeks: two defensive – sophomore Keith Barnes (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) in Week One and Lasher, two special teams – both freshman Thomas Davis (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) in Weeks One and Two and one rookie – Davis again in Week Two.
