Men's Lacrosse Falls To SUNY Plattsburgh, 24-11

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (April 3, 2010) - The Maritime men's lacrosse team lost to SUNY Plattsburgh in Upstate New York on Saturday by the score of 24-11. The loss drops the Privateers record to 2-7 on the season, while the Cardinals improve to 8-1.

Freshman Anthony Mendez (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the way for Maritime with a hat trick, scoring two goals in the second quarter and one more in the fourth. Junior Ryan Korb (Islip, N.Y./Islip) (Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Theo Greene (Pomona, N.Y./New York Military Academy) (Pomona, N.Y.) each chipped in two goals in the loss. Rounding out the scoring for the Privateers were senior Stephen Doherty (Yorktown, N.Y./Lakeland) (Yorktown, N.Y.) junior Alexander Korb (Islip, N.Y./Islip) (Islip, N.Y.) and freshmen John Driscoll (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) (Seaford, N.Y.) and TJ Fitzsimons (Wesley Chapel, Fla./Wiregrass Ranch) (Wesley Chapel, Fla.).

Maritime returns to action on Wednesday, April 7, when the squad plays host to Skyline Conference foe Bard. First faceoff against the Raptors is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
