Bronxville, NY – Senior guard Kristen Johnston (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa Acad.) (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) had a team high of 13 points and seven rebounds in the final game of her collegiate career, however her efforts wouldn't be enough to earn a win in her finale as Maritime was defeated by the College of New Rochelle, 70-40 in women's basketball action at the Campbell Sports Center in Bronxville, NY.

 

Junior forward Marissa Webber-Bey (Far Rockaway, NY/Fashion Industries) scored in double-figures for the first time all season with 12 points and added a team high nine rebounds.

 

Blue Angel center Ruchelle Austin (Brooklyn, NY/Sheepshead Bay) led all scorers with 31 points and 23 rebounds. Freshman forward Selin Tekin (Florida, NY/S.S. Seward) added 17 points and five rebounds for New Rochelle.

 

In the 2007-08 season, the Privateers will compete as an NCAA varsity team with a full 18-game schedule, including the Maritime Academies Tip-Off tournament which the Privateers will host next season.
