Throggs Neck, NY – Senior guard Aikesha Cumberbatch (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) scored 15 points to help lead the Panthers of Old Westbury to their first win and first conference win of the year Tuesday night in Skyline Conference action at Maritime College.
The Panthers took an early lead in this one behind the play of Cumberbatch along with contributions from freshman Elizabeth Weikum (Livingston Manor, NY/Livingston Manor) and sophomore Natasha Dynina (Plainview, NY) who both had ten points in the first. However, the Privateers held both girls scoreless in the second half, and Cumberbatch only had three points after scoring twelve in the first half.

Alissa Bello (Rockaway, NY/Poly Prep) (Rockaway, NY/Poly Prep) was the team leader the Maritime with nine points and three rebounds. Senior point guard
Kerri Herrmann (Central Islip, NY/St. Anthony's) (Central Islip, NY/St. Anthony's) added six points, while freshman forward
Marissa Webber-Bey (Far Rockaway, NY/Fashion) grabbed five boards to add to her current conference leading average.
Maritime will be back in action next month, or this Saturday December 4th, when they take on the Blue Knights of Mount Saint Mary. The game will be played at Maritime College with a 2:00 pm start time.
