Maritime freshman Kyle O'Brien of the Maritime Cross Country team was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for the second week of the 2016 season.

O'Brien put forth a strong effort on Saturday at the Bard Raptors Invitational, as he finished fifth amongst the 151 racers at the event. He recorded a time of 27:06.00, which was fifth fastest on the Maritime All-Time quickest times list with his pace on the Bard College course.
 
In just his second-career race, O'Brien has earned key points for the Privateers to this point helping Maritime to a 12th place team finish at the Fordham Fiasco and a third place team finish this past weekend.
