Freshman running back and kickoff returner Thomas Davis (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) became the ECFC's first-ever winner of two weekly awards in a single week when the conference announced that he had been named both the Rookie of the Week and the Special Teams Player of the Week. The 5-6, 165-pounder scored 20 of Maritime’s points on the night as he registered a game-best three touchdowns and scored a two-point conversion on a rushing play. Each of his touchdowns came a different way as his first was via a 44-yard passing play in the second quarter, his second was on the Privateers’ first ever kickoff return on an 80-yard return to start the second half and his last was on a 29-yard rushing play in the fourth quarter. He finished the day with a team-best 218 all purpose yards (41 receiving, 44 rushing and 133 kick returning).
