John O’Donoghue became Maritime’s head volleyball coach prior to the 2023 season. A 2016 graduate of Adelphi University, he came to Fort Schuyler with extensive coaching experience at the high school and club levels.
From 2017-23, O’Donoghue was an assistant coach with both the boys’ and girls’ varsity programs at St. Anthony’s High School on Long Island. He coordinated practice drills, recorded and updated team statistics, and helped the head coach in all other areas of the programs.
O’Donoghue worked at Club Ace Long Island in Hempstead, NY, from 2019-23, managing all private lessons for the club while also serving as a coach. He’s also the general manager of the Merrick Avenue Athletic Center in Westbury, NY, where he oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility. O’Donoghue was previously a coach and supervisor at Unlimited Sports Action Inc., in Port Washington, NY. He developed and led activities for children of all ages at the youth sports center.
