Brittany Ott

Brittany Ott enters her third season on the sidelines as the assistant women's lacrosse coach in 2015-16.

In 2015, Ott helped the Privateers to wins over Maine Maritime and Mass. Maritime en route to the first-ever Maritime Cup in mid-March. Later in the season she oversaw the team pick up its third consecutive "Sound Shootouf" victory over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Following the season, Maritime had two Skyline All-Conference selections, the second time in as many seasons.

In her first season with the Privateers, Ott was instrumental in helping the team to a program record five victories during the 2014 season. She also helped with the development of the players including Maritime's first female to win an individual conference award as freshman Jane Quinn was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year following the conclusion of the season.

Ott comes to Maritime after a successful playing career at Division II Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. She was a four-year starter at the midfield position for the Mavericks, while also playing as a member of Mercy’s field hockey program. In her four years playing lacrosse, she started 39 of 41 games and tallied 18 goals and 2 assists. Ott also recorded a program-best 70 draw controls in her career.

With Mercy, she also had four years of experience running clinics for local female athletes. In the summer months, she assisted with Copiague’s summer league on Long Island and volunteered as a coach for Team91.

A native of Copiague, N.Y., Ott attended Copiague High School where she was also a four-year starter as a midfielder. She was named Suffolk County All-Division in 2009 and earned multiple team awards. Ott also lettered in soccer and field hockey at Copiague High School.
