Ken Kurtz joined the Maritime men’s soccer coaching staff prior to the 2024 season. A three-year starter at goalkeeper for the University of Mary Washington, where he served as a team captain, Kurtz led the Eagles to three Capital Athletic Conference championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
During his playing days at Mary Washington, Kurtz set the program record for shutouts in both a single season (13) and career (27). He also holds the Eagles’ single-season (0.40) and career (0.55) goals against average records, as well as the single-season mark for fewest goals conceded (8). A three-time first team all-conference and three-time all-state selection, Kurtz was named First Team All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches Association in 2019.
He graduated from Mary Washington in 2021 with a degree in business administration. Kurtz then went on to play professionally at the USL Championship level with Loudon United in Virginia and Hartford Athletic in Connecticut.
