Jerry DeMeo will enter his second season as the assistant men's lacrosse coach in 2020.
In DeMeo's first season he helped lead the Privateers to their first ever Skyline Conference title and an undefeated conference record. Maritime went on to win their first round matchup in the NCAA tournament with a 14-13 overtime victory against Grove City.
Prior to Maritime, DeMeo coached at Cornell University ('85-'87), Southampton College ('82-'84), Stony Brook ('95-'99), Dartmouth ('84-'85), the New York Athletic Club ('87-'93), and the Australian Lacrosse Federation ('83). During his time as an assistant coach at Cornell, they finished as the Division I runner-ups in 1987. Other notable awards for DeMeo include the 1990 United States Club Lacrosse Association (USCLA) Coach of the Year in 1990, the USCLA Northern Champions in 1990 and 1991, the USCLA Metro Division Championship in 1993, and lastly coaching Southampton College to their first ever Knickerbocker Lacrosse League Championship. Outside of lacrosse, DeMeo is also a retired New York City Firefighter.
DeMeo graduated from SUNY Cortland in 1981, where he competed on the men's lacrosse team. In his senior campaign, he was named First-Team All-America-Defense and he helped lead the team back-to-back NCAA Division III Championship appearances in 1980 and 1981.
