Brian Houst

Brian Houst, a 2002 graduate of Maritime College, has been with the team in one fashion or another since his graduation in 2002. His official return as a member of the coaching staff was in 2006. Houst assists with the defense, primarily working with the team's goalkeepers. He is also the Lacrosse Alumni Coordinator.
 
Prior to joining the Privateer Lacrosse staff in 2006, Houst served as an assistant coach/goalkeeper coach at Kellenberg Memorial High School from 2002 to 2004. He also had a brief stint as an assistant coach at Maritime in 2002. 
 
Houst, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from Maritime in 2002, currently works full-time for Pasternak Baum & Co., Inc as the Assistant Manager of their freight department.
 
In his collegiate days, Houst was the starting goalkeeper for the Privateers for four years, a three-time captain and was voted team MVP in 1998, 2000 and 2002. After completing his collegiate career, Houst moved onto playing with the Club Lacrosse in the USCLA with the North Hempstead Gamecocks from 2002 to 2005 and presently plays for Duke Tobay. Though asked to try out for several of the local MLL teams in the past, Houst has yet to secure a roster spot.
 
Houst, originally from New Hyde Park, N.Y. he now currently resides in Floral Park, N.Y. with his wife Blaine.
