Biography
2019-20: Camara continued to see an increased role for the Privateers as he appeared in 24 games and started in eight of them during his junior campaign. He averaged a career high 10.9 minutes per game and put up career highs in points, rebounds, blocks, and steals. His season was highlighted by recording a career high 11 points in a home win against SUNY New Paltz where he shot 5-8 from the field and also posted six rebounds, one off his season high.
2018-19: Saw an increased role off the bench for the Privateers as he appeared in 14 games and started in two of them. He finished the year with an impressive .486 field goal percentage while averaging 9.7 minutes per game. He totaled 45 rebounds and 45 points on the season. He saw vast improvement as the season came to a close by scoring six points or more in five of the last seven games. His top performance of the year came in the team's home win over USMMA where he posted a season-high 10 points on 5-9 shooting. In the final two games of the year, he tallied a season-high seven rebounds in each game.
2016-17: Saw time in three games for the Privateers during his first season with the team…made his collegiate debut and played a season-high 13 minutes and scored six points in the team’s road game against Oswego (11/18)…saw time in games against Mitchell (11/27) and Merchant Marine (12/3).
High School: Graduated from Frederick Douglass Academy in Manhattan, N.Y. in 2016 … played three seasons of varsity basketball for the Lions … was a member of the two-time PSAL Manhattan Borough Champions in both 2015 and 2016 … was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the team his senior season.
Personal: Son of Amie Dukureh and Jarga Camara … has four siblings; Lasana, Tuma, Bouba and Cadeek … is planning to earn his degree in International Transportation and Trade while at Maritime.
