Bradd Wierzbicki

Bradd Wierzbicki is back with the Maritime basketball coaching staff for his fourth season beginning in 2019-20.
 
In his second season as an assists, Wierzbicki helped Maritime to another 10-win season, while improving to seven wins in conference play. Following the season Maritime had one All-Conference First Team selection in senior Patrick MacDonald '18, who later went on to add D3hoops.com All-Atlantic Region Second Team Accolades and also First Team honors from the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. MacDonald was also one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Jostens Award.

In his first season on the sidelines with the Privateers, Wierzbicki was instrumental in helping the team earn 10 wins on the season, including five victories in conference play. Offensively the team averaged 78.4 points per game led by MacDonald, who averaged 20.2 points per game. At the end of the season, MacDonald was named as a member of the Skyline All-Conference First Team, along with regional honors from both D3hoops.com and the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association.

Wierzbicki joined the Maritime staff following a successful collegiate career in the United States, before heading overseas to play professionally.
 
Playing for the Leicester Riders of the British Basketball League, Wierzbicki averaged 18.4 points per game and averaged 2.9 assists per game and 2.5 rebounds per game during his third season with the team in 2011-12.
 
In addition to his playing with the Riders, he also coached a high school basketball team and was responsible for preparing, organizing and conducting practices, while also coordinating the team’s game schedule.
 
Prior to his stop in Great Britain, Wierzbicki played professionally in Spain with the Leyma Basquet Coruna and Uni Caja.
 
Earning the opportunity to play internationally followed an impressive collegiate career at Queens College in Flushing, N.Y. While with the Knights, Wierzbicki recorded 1,686 points, fourth-most in school history. His career total includes a 689 point-season as a junior, which still stands as the program record.
 
Wierzbicki earned countless awards during his collegiate career, highlighted by his Second Team All-American selection, to go along with several All-Region accolades, as well as a Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Player of the Year selection in 2007.
 
In addition to his national and regional accolades, Wierzbicki earned back-to-back New York Collegiate Athletic Confernece/East Coast Conference Player of the Year honors as both a junior and a senior.
 
Before attending college, he played for Coach Frank McQuail at Cathedral Preparatory School and Seminary in Elmhurst, N.Y. As a senior, he led the entire Catholic High School Athletic Association in scoring as he averaged 26.1 points per game.  While in high school he also helped lead the team to a Class C State Championship.
 
In addition to his position as an assistant coach with the Maritime basketball program, Wierzbicki currently is employed as an Assistant Resident Manager at Buchbinder & Warren, a position he has held since 2012.
 
Wierzbicki currently resides in Queens, N.Y.
