Biography

2017 Senior Season: Selected as a team captain.
 
2016 Junior Season: 800# Club member in the offseason lifting program. A key contributor on the offense as an h-back and was also a member of all the special teams units. Was selected as the teams WARFACE Captain for the game at Mount Ida and also won a WARFACE Award following the season.

2015 Sophomore Season: Was a primary back up at running back seeing action in all 10 games on offense and special teams. A ferocious blocker on the perimeter, Jacob also gained 40 yards on 17 carries. He was the Special Teams Player of the Game against Norwich. 

2014 Freshman Season: Played in seven games primarily as a special teams performer and recorded one rush for nine yards in the season finale against Gallaudet. 

Academics: Majoring in Marine Transportation with a U.S. Coast Guard Deck License.Named to the 2015 and 2016 All-ECFC Academic team, and was also selected to the Maritime Dean's and Admiral’s List on seveal occassions. 

Prior to Maritime: Played running back and defensive back for Coach Silva at Granada High School. He was selected as a captain for his senior season.

Personal: Parents are Pam and Josh Shinnick. His dad played football for UCLA and his uncle is the head football coach at West Florida.
