Following his career as an offensive lineman, Sterling stayed at Brockport in 2014 as a Student Assistant Coach for the Offensive Line. Sterling's next step as a coach came as a graduate assistant at Bethany College, where he was an offensive line coach, strength and conditioning coach, video coordinator, and associate recruiting coordinator.
