Pat Basil completed his first year as the head wide receivers coach, strength & conditioning, and equipment Operations at Maritime in 2014.
Basil comes to Maritime after a three-month stint at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut, where he served as a strength & conditioning intern for the Huskies. While working primarily with the football team, Basil was tasked with instructing athletes through lifting and proper techniques to increase athletic performance.
Before his time in central Connecticut, Basil was also a strength & conditioning intern with his alma mater Bryant University in Smitfield, Rhode Island. While with Bryant, he worked with all 22 of the Bulldogs’ athletic teams, including the National Quarterfinal men’s lacrosse program. He also advised graduating athletes and NFL prospects in preparation for pro days and combines.
On the playing field for the Bulldogs, Basil spent four seasons with the team from 2010-13, including the latter three seasons as the team’s long snapper. During his sophomore and junior seasons the team did not have a fumbled snap on any PAT try, while in his sophomore year there was not one fumbled snap on a field goal or punt as well. In addition to his time as a long snapper, Basil also saw the field in a role as both a fullback and a defensive lineman in his career.
Basil graduated from Bryant with a degree in Applied Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. The Huntington, N.Y. native and St. Anthony’s High School graduate currently resides in Amityville, N.Y.
