Chris Capezzuto returned to Maritime as the running backs/tight ends coach in 2022. This is his second stint on the Privateers’ coaching staff. He previously served as Maritime’s defensive backs coach from March 2013-April 2014.
Capezzuto was the first-ever head coach at Palisades Preparatory School in Yonkers, leading the team to the sectional playoffs in its inaugural season of 2011. After his first stint at Maritime, he served as head coach at Roosevelt High School in Yonkers from 2014-15.
In addition, Capezzuto spent three years as a Master Trainer for the USA Football HeadsUp Program. He facilitated over 20 clinics for high school and youth football coaches and ran camps at MetLife Stadium, as well as Katterbach Army Base in Ansbach, Germany.
Most recently, he was on the sprint football staff at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where he coached the linebackers, wide receivers and special teams while also serving as the recruiting coordinator. Capezzuto recruited athletes from all over the country and developed seven All-Sprint linebackers in two seasons.
A 2003 St. Thomas Aquinas graduate with a degree in history, Capezzuto received a master’s in secondary education from St. Thomas Aquinas in 2005. He is currently a social studies teacher at Lehman High School in the Bronx.
