Cheri Eleazer

Cheri Eleazer completed her first season as the h-backs coach for the Maritime football after the 2017 season.
 
She will play a vital role with the Privateers in coaching the team’s offense while also contributing to the day-to-day operations of the team and will also help in training and recruiting efforts.

In her first season on the sideline with the Privateers, Eleazer’s h-backs hauled in 12 passes for 116 yards and blocked for a combined 1,869 yards of rushing offense. Following the season, Jacob Shinnick ’18 was selected to the All-ECFC Second Team.

Eleazer currently serves as the Wellness and Sports Coordinator in Stamford, Connecticut for the local YMCA, while also coaching with the Bunnell High School girls’ varsity program. Previously she held down positions with Title Boxing Club as general manager and several personal training director positions.
 
From 2008-2009, she worked for the New York Sharks of the Independent Women’s Football League as travel coordinator and was also responsible for fundraising. She also plays for the Sharks as a linebacker and has been a member of the team since 2008.
 
Coaching in college athletics will not be new to Eleazer as she previous worked for the University of Maryland-Baltimore County with the Retrievers’ women’s basketball team for two seasons from 2010-12, where she also served as the team’s strength & conditioning coach.
 
She also worked at Hofstra University for one season as Director of Basketball Operations and helped the team to the Women’s NIT. Prior to Hofstra, she held coaching and strength & conditioning positions at both St. Joseph’s (LI) and Nassau Community College for their women’s basketball programs.
 
After graduating from college, Eleazer played semi-professional basketball for two seasons in the National Women’s Basketball League from 2004-06. She also represented the United States as a member of the women’s flag football team in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 2010.
 
She earned her degree from the University of Hartford in 2004, where she played four seasons of basketball for the Hawks.
