Calvin Powell completed his first season as the running backs coach for the Privateer Program in 2014.
Powell brings six seasons worth of experience as an offensive line coach and offensive coordinator as well as knowledge in recruiting the Southern States.
Powell brings a reputation of producing high performing offenses as well as statistical champions and All-Conference recipients. While at Green Hill School in 2008 as the offensive line coach, the team amassed 426 yards PPG and 35 PPG. From 2009-2012, Calvin coached the conference rushing champion and 8th leading rusher in all NJCAA (Green Hill School) and several All Conference Lineman (Langston University). In 2011, as the offensive line coach, Langston University was the Co-Conference Champions and nationally ranked (#23).
Most recently, he was the offensive line coach and running game coordinator for the District Championship team at St. Michael’s Catholic Academy in Austin, Texas.
Powell is praised highly by former players for his work ethic and ability to teach and communicate with players. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration from Southwestern College. He has also received his Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Educational Leadership, from Langston University.
