Biography

2018: Elected Team Captain... Named to First Team ALL-ECFC... A member of All-ECAC Second Team Defense... Finished his career as the all-time leader in sacks... Tallied eight sacks... Forced a fumble against Mass. Maritime (9/7)... Finished four among Privateers with 58 tackles... 1000# club member in the offseason lifting program.

2017: Standout season starting all 11 games at Right Defensive End and earned Honorable Mention All-ECFC honors. Named Defensive Player of the Game against Merchant Marine. Recognized by team mates as a season WARFACE winner.
  
2016: 900# Club member in the offseason lifting program. Started all 11 games on the defensive line and won Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts vs. Husson. He finished the season second on the team in tackles for loss (TFL) and sacks.
 
2015: Played defensive line and quickly jumped into playing time as he saw action in nine games and started in two games.
 
Academics:  Payton is in the regiment of cadets and is majoring in Marine Operations with a U.S. Coast Guard Deck License.
 
Prior to Maritime: Attended Morris Knolls High School where he also participated in wrestling. 
 
Personal: Parents are Holly and Glen Campbell.
