At Maritime:
2013: Junior Season – Nick was elected by his teammates to the Football Leadership Council. Nick had another solid year for the Privateer defense appearing in every game last season. He Was selected as the team’s Defensive Player of the Week against Kings Point and Castleton. Nick recorded a team high 95 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 3 Tackles for loss and recovered two fumbles. Nick’s success on the field earned him 2nd Team All-Conference Honors.
2012: Sophomore Season – Nick made his presence felt as he started all 9 games, contributing 29 total tackles with 8.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and 2 passes deflected. He also blocked one punt and returned a punt for 8 yards. Nick garnered All-ECFC Honorable Mention recognition on the season and was named ECFC Defensive Player of the Week against William Patterson. Nick was also named team Defensive Player of the Week against William Patterson and Special Teams Player of the Week against Anna Maria.
2011: Freshman Season – A very athletic and active freshman, Nick played in 8 games in the defensive line rotation and also special teams. He was named the Special Teams Player of the Week against Castleton State where he blocked a punt. He registered 7 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss on the season.
Academics: Nick is majoring in Marine Transportation with a USCG Deck License. He has an overall GPA of 3.0 and made Academic Dean’s List in the 2012 spring semester.
Prior to Maritime:
Nick played football for Coach Paoli at Delaware Military Academy where he also wrestled and was on the baseball and rugby team. Nick was selected as the team captain his junior and senior year, MVP and Blue and Gold All Star his senior year. Nick was also All Conference as a junior, team captain as a senior, and went to the state qualifier in wrestling. Coffiey was also ranked in the top 50 national players for 416 National Team for rugby his junior year. He spent one year as a redshirt at University of Delaware.
