THROGGS NECK, NY – On Friday night, the Maritime College women's soccer team began a six-game homestand by welcoming Manhattanville to Reinhart Field. The Privateers (2-4-1, 1-2-0 Skyline) were unable to come away with the victory, however, as the Valiants (3-3-0, 2-1-0 Skyline) earned a 3-0 win.

Nicole Mejia (Garden City, NY) made three early saves, Maritime nearly took the lead when
Eva Garcia (Rockville Centre, NY) drew a yellow card on Manhattanville goalkeeper Gabrielle Billetz. Billetz then stopped
Daniella Jimenez's (Copiague, NY) attempt before Taylor Morrill put the Valiants on the board. Drita Tinaj got free down the left side and connected with Morrill in the middle. She put it away into the lower left corner, giving Manhattanville a 1-0 lead.
The Valiants added two more goals in the second half. Audrey Fenninger scored off a header on Jazleen Vega's 54
th-minute corner kick. Vega then recorded a tally of her own in the 64
th minute to increase Manhattanville's advantage to 3-0.
Mejia (1-1-0) finished with six saves for the Privateers. Billetz (2-2-0) was credited with the win after notching a pair of saves over the first 87 minutes. Elliott Allen played the last three minutes in goal for the Valiants.
Maritime returns to action on Tuesday, when Mount St. Mary (5-3-0, 2-0-0 Skyline) visits Reinhart Field at 6 p.m. It will be the Privateers' first time hosting the Knights since 2023.
