Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Maritime Falls at Farmingdale In Skyline Semifinals

FARMINGDALE, NY – Last season, the Maritime College women's lacrosse team lost at Farmingdale in the Skyline Conference Championship Game.  This year, the Privateers and Rams met in the semifinals.  The result was the same, however, as second-seeded Farmingdale (9-8) moved into the Skyline Championship Game with a 14-7 victory over third-seeded Maritime (10-7) at Rams Field.

The Rams got on the board just 42 seconds into the contest and had a 2-0 lead after three minutes.  Gabrielle Nicolosi (West Islip, NY) scored with 1:57 left in the first quarter, though, to pull the Privateers within 2-1.  After Farmingdale extended its cushion to 4-1 early in the second quarter, Michelle Pecoraro (Kings Park, NY) brought Maritime within 4-2 at the 9:25 mark.  The Rams tallied three of the next four goals to increase the margin to 7-3 before Eva Garcia (Rockville Centre, NY) found the back of the net with 19 seconds remaining until halftime.

However, Farmingdale began the third quarter with seven straight goals to open up a 14-4 edge.  Ford snapped the Privateers' scoring drought with 10 seconds remaining in the third quarter, then Maritime added two tallies in the fourth quarter to make the final score 14-7.  With the win, defending champion Farmingdale advanced to its second straight Skyline Championship Game.

Kiera Ford (Montgomery, NY) scored a pair of goals for the Privateers, while Tracy had three points on a goal and two assists.  Nicolosi's goal was her 61st of the season and the 202nd of her career, both of which are program records.  Her 125 points in 2025 and 360 career points are also the most in school history.  Gia DiToma (Syracuse, NY) gathered a team-high four ground balls, and Tori Koenig (Roxbury, NJ) (10-7) made 12 saves.

For the Rams, Emily Sohm recorded eight points on six goals and two assists.  Jules Loughran, meanwhile, posted four goals, two assists and three ground balls.  Carly Livingston finished with two goals and an assist, and Jordyn Neu collected four ground balls.  In addition to picking up four ground balls, goalkeeper Gianvanna Stamatelo (9-8) was credited with 10 saves.

Maritime, which had never reached the Skyline semifinals prior to 2022, has now made it at least that far in four consecutive seasons.  The Privateers have also won at least one playoff game in each of the last four years.
