NEWBURGH, NY – On Tuesday night, the Maritime College women's soccer team concluded its road schedule with a visit to Mount St. Mary. Playing away from home for the third straight time, the Privateers (4-8-0, 2-7-0 Skyline) suffered a 9-0 loss to the Knights (6-9-0, 6-3-0 Skyline) at Kaplan Field.
Faith Welsh opened the scoring in the ninth minute, while Lily Tanko added a 13
th-minute tally for Mount St. Mary. The Knights extended their lead to 5-0 at halftime, then Welsh found the back of the net again 34 seconds into the second half. Mount St. Mary recorded three goals in an eight-minute span to finish off the 9-0 victory.
Tanko had a hat trick for the Knights. Welsh, meanwhile, finished with two goals and two assists. Kaitlin Hansen and Kaitlyn Shotter each notched a goal and two assists for Mount St. Mary.

Estela Quintero (Oceanside, NY) (4-8-0) faced 34 shots, 21 of which went on goal, and made with 12 saves. Julianna Ewashko (3-5-0) was credited with her third clean sheet of the season and earned the win for the Knights.
The Privateers have two games remaining—both at Reinhart Field. Maritime hosts St. Joseph's Brooklyn (0-11-0, 0-8-0 Skyline) at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Prior to the contest, the Privateers will honor their five-member senior class.
