Results
PURCHASE, NY – After opening the season with consecutive home meets, the Maritime College men's and women's swimming & diving teams hit the road for the first time on Friday night.  The Privateers traveled to Purchase for a dual meet, and both squads came away with the victory.  The Maritime women defeated the Panthers by a 94-76 count, while the Privateer men earned a 108-63 victory at the Purchase College Athletic Center.
Maritime won nine events on the women's side.  
Lauren Barriteau (Laurelton, NY) earned a pair of individual triumphs in the 1000 yard freestyle (14:25.75) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:25.66), and she was also a member of the Privateers' victorious 200 yard medley relay.  
Oceana Elefante (Sayville, NY), who joined Barriteau, 
Kirsten Argueta (Englewood, NJ) and 
Julia Augello (Whitestone, NY) in the medley relay, added a pair of individual wins.  She took first in the 50 yard freestyle (29.21) before adding a victory in the 100 yard freestyle (1:06.44).
Argueta, meanwhile, swam the 100 yard butterfly in a winning time of 1:50.65.  
Jessica Magee (Smithtown, NY) won the 1-meter diving competition with a season-best score of 205.95 points, and 
Carolina Hardy (Long Beach, NY) was victorious in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:34.21).  Hardy and Magee capped the meet by teaming with Augello and 
Aisling Donnelly (New City, NY) to place first in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
Rowan Hayes (Floral Park, NY) and 
Gabriel Abreu (New York, NY) both won two events for the Maritime men.  Hayes was first in the 100 butterfly (55.78) and 100 breaststroke (1:01.94), while Abreu earned victories in the 50 freestyle (25.82) and 100 yard backstroke (1:12.09).  
Ryan Colombo (Cortland Manor, NY) added a win in the 500 yard freestyle (6:03.32).
In addition to teaming up for a victory in the 200 freestyle relay, 
Victor Pineda (Bronx, NY), 
Parker Endress (Hamburg, NY), 
Matt Klimek (Malverne, NY) and 
Liam McManus (Islip, NY) each picked up an individual win.  Pineda was first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:15.53) and Endress swam the 200 yard individual medley in 2:31.01.  Klimek had a time of 12:08.04 in the 1000 freestyle, while McManus touched first in the 100 freestyle (57.08).
On Tuesday, Maritime travels to William Paterson for a 6 p.m. dual meet.
