KINGS POINT, NY – The Maritime College women's soccer team began a season-ending three-game road trip on Wednesday night at Merchant Marine.
Natalie Boeri (Smithtown, NY) scored her first collegiate goal for the Privateers (6-8-1, 1-7-1 Skyline) in a 5-1 loss to the Mariners (8-2-4, 7-1-2 Skyline) at Bartoszek Field.
Alexx Forman had a hat trick in the first 25 minutes for Merchant Marine. Jayme Santasiero then made it 4-0 in the 27
th minute before Ainsley Carlon added a fifth goal for the Mariners in the 35
th minute. It was still 5-0 in the 77
th minute, when Boeri took a feed from
Kiera Ford (Montgomery, NY) and slipped it by Eva Fields.
Merchant Marine outshot Maritime 26-4, including a 17-1 edge in shots on goal.
Devon Etienne (Garden City, NY) (5-8-1) made 12 saves in a losing effort, while Margaret Ripperger (7-1-3) and Fields each played a half for Merchant Marine. Natalie Colpoys and Sarah Welsch were each credited with two assists for the Mariners.
Up next for the Privateers is a 3:30 p.m. matchup at St. Joseph's Brooklyn (1-12-0, 1-8-0 Skyline) on Saturday.
