PATCHOGUE, NY – The Maritime College women's soccer team traveled to St. Joseph's (LI) for a Skyline Conference matchup on Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles (5-3-0, 2-1-0 Skyline) scored in the fifth minute and made that goal hold up for a 1-0 victory over the Privateers (3-3-0, 0-3-0 Skyline) at Danzi Stadium.
St. Joseph's (LI) was awarded an early corner kick, and the Golden Eagles converted it into the game's only goal. Abbey Curcio took the corner kick and set up Alyssa Ramcke, whose header found the back of the net.

Lizzie Pomaro (Farmingville, NY) kept it a 1-0 game with seven first-half saves, but the Privateers were unable to find an equalizer. Pomaro (3-3-0) made eight total saves in the contest. Mikayla Ritter (5-3-0), meanwhile, recorded the shutout after facing just three Maritime shots.
After playing two straight on the road, the Privateers return to Reinhart Field on Saturday, when they take on Mount St. Mary (3-3-2, 2-0-1 Skyline) at 7 p.m.
