Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Five Different Privateers Score In Dominant Win

THROGGS NECK, NY – The goals came early and often for the Maritime College women's soccer team on Tuesday.  Five different Privateers scored, led by Kiera Ford's (Montgomery, NY) career-high four tallies, as Maritime (5-7-0, 2-7-0 Skyline) cruised to its second straight victory, a 10-3 triumph over Yeshiva (0-8-0, 0-8-0 Skyline) at Reinhart Field.

Ford's first goal came 3:18 into the game, and Courtney Curley (Churchville Chili, NY) made it 2-0 just 16 seconds later.  After Lior Pinchot got Yeshiva on the board, Ford netted her second in the 15th minute.  Sara Wright (East Islip, NY) then added a pair to give the Privateers a 5-1 halftime advantage.

Maritime struck early in the second half, as well, as Wright connected with Brianne Etienne (Garden City, NY) after a mere 26 seconds.  Pinchot scored a second time before Ford completed her first career hat trick in the 63rd minute.  She picked up a fourth in the 72nd minute, and Curley notched her second just over a minute later.  Kathryn Sanford (Floral Park, NY) then made it three goals in 2:15 for the Privateers.  Pinchot's third goal of the night capped the scoring in Maritime's 10-3 win.

With her four goals, Ford now has seven on the season. Curley's two tallies, meanwhile, were the first two of her collegiate career.  Wright distributed three assists to go along with her two scores, and Anya Josberger (Coxsackie, NY) had four assists.  Sanford picked up an assist in addition to scoring the Privateers' final goal.

Lizzie Pomaro (Farmingville, NY) (5-7-0) was credited with two saves, while Yeshiva goalkeeper Sophie Dubin (0-8-0) recorded 17 saves.  The Privateers outshot the Maccabees 54-6, including a 28-5 edge in shots on goal, and took 16 corner kicks in the victory.

On Thursday, the Privateers will look for their third straight win when CCNY (6-5-0) visits Reinhart Field for a 7 p.m. matchup.  It will be Maritime's third game in five days.
